He is a native of Palo Alto, CA and in 1977
Jim earned his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Speech Communication and English at California State University Stanislaus.
Jim worked his way through college as a restaurant manager, bartender, and waiter. After moving to the Sierra Nevada in 1977, Jim embarked on a 16 year career in construction as a Carpenter and General Contractor.
After building 35 custom homes, Jim became employed in estimating and sales for commercial masonry and concrete contractors located in the Central Valley and
Southern California. 
Jim is interested in and enjoys horticulture, architecture, landscape design, gourmet foods, animals, computer programs, history, reading non-fiction, Social
Sciences, and The Arts.
